Is potty training required for PreK & Summer programs?Nope! Potty training is not required for our programs, and we'll even help you with potty training when the time comes! We kindly ask that if your child is in the process of potty training, they attend in a pull-up. This helps us support them in learning the potty process smoothly, without the discomfort or interruption an accident might cause.

My child has never been away from me and will cry... can I still sign up?Absolutely! Our program is designed specifically to support your child (and you!) through the early stages of independence. It’s completely normal for little ones to cry at first—but rest assured, our experienced team knows just how to guide them through the transition. The key is to stay calm and positive during drop-off. Simple, upbeat goodbyes like “I’ll be back soon—have fun with your new friends!” help your child feel safe and confident. We find that most children adjust within minutes, and in the beginning, we’re happy to send a quick text update to ease your mind. Trust us—it’s often harder for the parents than the kids!

Can I come in with my child on the first day? We’d love to welcome you and your child for a tour to explore the space, meet our team, and begin building comfort together. Please note that our program is drop-off only—parents do not attend with their children. With over a decade of experience, we’ve found that the sooner children begin to discover their independence in the classroom, the more smoothly they adjust to daily drop-offs.

How many children are in the program? Our PreK programs cap at just 5 children with two teachers. Summer Camp is slightly larger, capping at 10 children per class, but we have significantly more staff in the summer as well! We pride ourselves on the best student to teacher ratio in the area!
-
What should I pack for snack/ lunch? We suggest packing foods your child is comfortable with, enjoys, and is easy to eat. School is not the place to experiment with new food options! We have food preparation guidelines that you will receive before starting.

Can my child wear a smock for Mess Makers? At Curious Kids, we don't allow smocks during our classes because they interfere with the learning process. When children wear smocks, they feel they should avoid getting dirty, which goes against the purpose of our hands-on, messy activities. It’s important for children to embrace getting messy, work through it, and sucessfully complete the activity to develop grit (something we talk about a lot in our programs!). To fully engage in the experience, we recommend wearing old clothes or buying an inexpensive outfit specifically for our mess-makers class.

My child's grandparent/ aunt/ family member is in town, can they attend the class too?We love visitors! We just ask you limit the number of adult attendees to two per registered child to avoid overcrowding the space.
-
Can my child's older/ younger sibling(s) attend?Of course! If the sibling is younger, we're happy to have them join each week, and we even have extra hands available to help with the project if needed. However, if the sibling is older and falls within the age range of the class being offered, we kindly ask that you pay for their single class. You can easily register them for a trial class via the Toddler & Me registration page!
-
Can I try a class?Absolutely! You can register for a single class (as long as there is space available) and pay just for that one class. If you decide to continue, the system will automatically prorate the remainder of the session.
-
What is your refund policy?Curious Kids does not offer refunds. All classes and programs are non-refundable, as the number of participants directly affects planning and preparation. When you sign up and make payment, your spot is secured, and classes are planned around these numbers. Thank you for understanding the time and effort that goes into preparing for your child's experience in our studio!
-
What is your sick policy? To help keep everyone healthy, we ask that children stay home if they or anyone in the household has had a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive cough or excessive runny nose, or rash within 48 hours of class. Please follow your doctor's guidance about returning to activities. If our teachers suspect your child is too sick to be in attendance you may be asked to leave or come pick up your child.

What is your makeup policy? At Curious Kids, we do not offer makeup classes due to our small class sizes and limited schedule. Unfortunately, we simply do not have the capacity to accommodate makeup sessions. While being part of a program as intimate as ours offers many benefits, this is one of the challenges we face. We appreciate your understanding and support!
